The barrel sauna is made of high-quality Nordic spruce, which is not only aesthetically pleasing but also offers excellent heat retention and insulation. With a wall thickness of 40 mm and a maximum wood moisture content of 16%, you are optimally protected against the elements, while the knot-free, resin-free abachi wood of the loungers guarantees maximum comfort.
The Harvia Vega electric sauna heater, with a power output of 9 kW, reaches comfortable temperatures in just about 45 minutes, allowing you to quickly enjoy your sauna. Thanks to the internal controls, you can regulate the heat to your exact preferences.

- Shipping within Germany is free; shipping to Austria and Switzerland is subject to a surcharge.
- Delivery is made to the curb; the customer is responsible for unloading. A forklift, tractor, or crane is required for this.
- Last mile: if required, we will take care of transporting the barrel sauna to the garden, right up to the installation location (for a corresponding fee).

Danger:
Please remember that "wood is a living material", meaning that during operation of the sauna, the wooden boards may warp slightly or the joints may change shape.
Furthermore, especially during the first few sauna sessions, there is a possibility that very resinous areas (resin pockets) will be activated by the high sauna temperatures, causing the resin to seep out. This can then cause the resin to either run down the wood or drip off.

For a safe and stable installation of the barrel sauna
A flat, paved area in your garden is essential. Normally you don't have such an area in your garden. Now you have two options:
👷 Either you have the foundation prepared. Just give us a quick call, we'll talk about your garden and I'll tell you what your local landscaper should prepare in your garden. I'll also send you a checklist and sketch for your helper so that everything is perfectly prepared. (And if your landscaper has any questions, he can call me!) A job like this takes about half a day for two specialists and costs around €600.
⛏️ Or you can dig the foundation yourself. The barrel sauna stands on two 8 centimetre wide, 165 centimetre long support planks: These are two thick, specially treated wooden boards. These wooden planks should stand on a strip foundation, each separated by a piece of roofing felt. These are two long holes in the garden into which a layer of coarse gravel, fine gravel and concrete is placed. I would be happy to send you instructions, a sketch and a dimension plan - please give me a quick call so that we can talk about the conditions in your garden.

It is advisable to burn out the wood stove first, ie you should heat the stove once and let it burn for a while to remove all residues from the manufacturing process. Be careful, experience has shown that this will result in more smoke.
There are no assembly instructions for our barrel saunas because the
Barrel sauna is delivered fully assembled.
This also ensures that all parts are complete, e.g. that no roof shingles are missing.
Thermowood is made from thermally treated spruce wood. This makes it more durable than untreated spruce wood. Thermowood also needs to be varnished and oiled regularly to protect it against wind and weather.
However, thermowood has a long delivery time and is more expensive than untreated spruce wood.
That is why we offer the fully assembled barrel saunas from
Germany with untreated spruce wood and can therefore achieve a very short delivery time of usually 1 - 2 weeks.
We are happy to varnish the outside of the barrel sauna directly in the factory so that the barrel sauna is optimally protected against weathering right from the start.
The tension straps ensure that the joints of the barrel sauna are tight.
In summer, the wood of the planks is often drier, which causes it to contract. To ensure that the joints remain tight, you should tighten the tensioning straps.
In winter the wood is moister, so you should loosen the tension bands so that the wood can swell.
Depending on its power, the electric heater needs 1 - 2 hours to heat up the barrel sauna.
To bring your barrel sauna to the desired 95°C,
we recommend a powerful electric oven. This is especially important in cold temperatures outdoors.
Based on experience, a 6 kW electric heater can heat a 2 m barrel sauna to about 60°C.
For reliable heating at low outside temperatures, we recommend Harvia's powerful electric heaters, such as the Vega and Legend models with 9 kW or 11 kW, which can bring your sauna to Finnish 90°C.
For an optimal sauna experience, we recommend a sauna heater with external control. Compared to sauna heaters with integrated control, these models reach the desired 80-90 degrees Celsius in the sauna room more efficiently.
The temperature sensor on internal controls is positioned too close to the housing, which can cause the sauna to shut off too early.
For a barrel sauna with an electric heater, you need a 440V (high voltage) electrical connection for the electric heater and a 230V (household connection) connection for the lighting.
To prepare the electrical connection of your barrel sauna with electric heater, you must first make sure that your fuse box provides the necessary connections.
Make sure you have a separate fuse for the 440V power connection required for the electric oven and a separate fuse for the 230V household connection required for the lighting.
An electrician can help you to check the fuse box
prepare accordingly. When it comes to bringing high voltage current into the garden to your barrel sauna, it is advisable to seek professional help.
When it comes to laying high voltage current in the garden,
it is advisable to use an underground cable to ensure the power supply is safe and secure. Make sure that the cable is laid deep enough in the ground to avoid damage.
Also remember to obtain the necessary permits for electrical installation to ensure the smooth operation of your barrel sauna.

The barrel sauna is placed on the bed of a small truck
transported.
Depending on how accessible the installation site is, you can transport the barrel sauna with the forks of a tractor or lift it with a crane.
The transporter will bring the appropriate straps for lashing and securing.
In and of itself, by fully assembling the barrel sauna before transporting it to you, we ensure that the barrel sauna is complete and that all parts are correctly assembled.
